The people of Gambia wear colorful clothing that reflects their joyous lifestyle (top row).
On our lazy day cruise up the River Gambia (center left), we snacked our way through the mangrove swamps at high tide (center). As the tide went out, oysters appeared on the mangrove roots, and crabs emerged from the mud (center right) to the delight of the oyster gathering women (lower right) and the storks and spoonbills (lower left). We took a dip in the river (below the storks and spoonbills), and a fellow onboard caught an angel fish (bottom center). Our ship was just visible over the mangroves from the boat (bottom right).

On to Cape Verde and the Atlantic crossing!
