Dalhousie Castle, seat of the Ramsay of Dalhousie clan. Now a luxury hotel.
At play in the fields of the castle. From the library window, we watched these horses cavorting in the fields while waiting for our suite to be readied.
And a meandering stream and a little stone bridge. Idyllic.
A man's castle is his home, right? Well at least they let us stay in the De Ramseia Suite for one night. First time I ever had to pay to stay in a relative's home! Seriously, though, this is the well room, and the well in front of me here still provides good drinking water. We used it only as a wishing well, hoping for a return trip soon.
At window in the corner of the well room a little writing desk, perfect for dashing off a few postcards or putting the finishing touches on that epic poem you've been working on.
The leather couch in front of the wide screen TV made for an interesting contrast to the stone walls and moist atmosphere of the well room.
The family crest appears over the door, nicely offset by the hotelier rating emblems.
The Ramsay crest as it appears over my desk.

The Ramsay Clan tartan comes in blue or   red.
